Dr Peter Bonfield Announced as the keynote speaker for Gas Utilisation 2016

We are pleased to announce that the keynote speech for this year's Gas Utilisation Conference will be delivered by Dr. Peter Bonfield. Dr. Bonfield will be speaking about the independent review he chaired on behalf of the Department of Energy and Climate Control and the Department for Communities and Local Government.

Dr. Bonfield chaired the "Independent Review of Consumer Advice, Protection, Standards and Enforcement for UK home energy efficiency and renewable energy measures". His review centred on weaknesses in the framework of standards which ensure installations of energy efficient and renewable energy measures are successful. The review considered consumer advice and protection, the standards framework and the monitoring and enforcement of poor quality work.

Dr. Bonfield has worked in construction for over twenty years. He joined the Building Research Establishment (BRE) Group in 1992 and progressed to become their CEO in January 2012. He has held various unpaid government roles throughout his career and, in June 2012, was awarded an OBE for services to research and innovation in the construction industry.  Further biographical details about Dr. Bonfield, his career history and his most recent review can be found athttps://www.gov.uk/government/publications/bonfield-review-terms-of-reference

Dr. Bonfield will be presenting the results of his recent review at our Gas Utilisation Conference at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry on 21 September.
