IGEM supports Gas Safety Week 2016
How IGEM supported and promoted Gas Safety Week 2016
IGEM takes gas safety very seriously.
As you'll be well aware, 19-25 September 2016 saw Gas Safety Week, organised by Gas Safe Register. Up and down the country, companies and organisations took part, spreading the word and passing on hints and tips for how we can become more gas safe aware.
Here's a quick roundup of what we got up to.
The true IGEM fan will already know we organised two events to coincide with Gas Safety Week, namely Gas Utilisation 2016, held on 21 September at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, and Carbon Monoxide: Past, Present, Future, held by our Scottish Section on 22 September at the Scottish Parliament. Both events raised awareness of safety issues for gas consumers and in gas utilisation. In addition, we were very happy to have Gas Safe Register exhibit at Gas Utilisation 2016, offering delegates the chance to chat with representatives one-to-one.
For those of you who are particularly tech-savvy, you will have noticed that we posted regularly across social media -Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, and were very happy to share some of your content too! It was great to see so many IGEM members getting involved and enthusiastically sharing their stories, opinions and advice about gas safety.
