Smart Gas Network Management Conference
Highlights:
Jointly organized by Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers, Far East District Section (IGEM FEDS) and Towngas China, the second Bi-Annual Gas Conference titled “Smart Gas Network Management” was launched on 26th April, 2017 in Suzhou, China. This is one of the most significant events of this session for IGEM FEDS. Over 220 guests and professional experts from the industry participated in the conference.
Officiating at the ceremony, there were IGEM President, Mr. Andy Cummings, IGEM Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sarb Bajwa and IGEM FEDS Chairman, Mr. Martin Kee as the key participants. Moreover, FEDS was honored to have a group of distinguished and reputable figures in the industry coming to the functions. Namely, Mr. Peter W.Y. Wong, the Executive Director & Chief Operating Officer of Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (HKCG); Ms. Li Yalan, the Chairperson of Beijing Gas; Mr. Alfred Sit, the Deputy Director of Electrical & Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) of the HKSAR government and representatives from Suzhou Government, all have showing the great support and joining in this momentous function.
After the opening ceremony and a delightful welcome speech by Mr. Peter WY Wong, the conference commenced. Mr. Andy Cummings was proudly invited to be the first speaker and shared his topic “Gas - a bridge to a low carbon future (an international perspective)” with the audience. Besides attending the technical presentations, participants also had chance to communicate with each other, promoting ideas and knowledge exchange. After the presentations, the conference was concluded by a closing remark from Mr. Martin Kee. A dinner banquet was arranged by IGEM FEDS for the audience following the conference. They all had a great time there.
