Hydrogen from Landfill Gas Technical Talk
A technical talk on hydrogen generation from landfill gas was organized on 8 January. This project is a joint venture between Towngas, the major fuel gas supplier in Hong Kong, and Veolia, a major player in environmental management projects.
Hong Kong is facing two major environmental challenges: the increasing amount of waste generated, and the need for clean energy solutions. This hydrogen generation from landfill gas project addresses both issues simultaneously, and we are glad to have the key players from both companies to share their knowledge and experience with us. The talk delved into the process of converting landfill gas into clean, renewable hydrogen fuel, offering the dual benefits of reducing harmful emissions while creating a valuable energy resource. Through this talk, our members got a better understanding on the environmental challenges we are facing, and how innovation and collaborations on two sectors can provide an outstanding solution.
